Privacy Policy

CompetitorCue is operated by Shipyard Labs LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we”, “us”, “our”). For any privacy-related question, contact us at the address in section 12 below.

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information: the email address and password you provide at signup, plus the session data created when you sign in. Authentication is provided by better-auth and stored in our database.

Billing information: paid-plan billing is handled through Stripe-hosted checkout. We store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status; the underlying card details live with Stripe, not with us.

Alert and watchlist configuration: the competitor URLs you choose to monitor, your scrape schedule, your Slack channel destination, and your email notification preferences.

Service diagnostics: server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) sufficient to operate and protect the Service.

We use the information we collect to:

(a) authenticate you and keep your account secure; (b) deliver the monitoring service — scraping configured competitor pages, detecting changes, and dispatching alerts to the channels you chose (email or Slack); (c) process payments and send billing notifications; (d) respond to support requests; (e) detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents; and (f) comply with legal obligations.

We use a minimal set of first-party cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or ad-network trackers.

We use the Polsia platform’s first-party visitor beacon (a small anonymized request that records page views and referrer for product diagnostics). It does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across other sites.

We share information only with the third parties that operate the Service on our behalf and only with the data they need to do their job:

Stripe— processes payments and manages subscriptions on our behalf under their own privacy practices.
better-auth— manages authentication sessions.
Slack— if you configure Slack alerts, we deliver messages to the Slack channel you specify using your Slack workspace.
Infrastructure providers— host the database and application servers in the United States.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may disclose information when required by law or in response to a valid legal process.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain billing records for the period required by tax and accounting laws (typically seven years) and then delete or anonymize them. Watchlist and alert configuration data are retained while your account is active and deleted within 90 days of account closure.

We employ reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and scoped database queries. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at the address in section 12 from the email address associated with your account; we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

We currently fulfill data requests manually rather than through an in-app portal. In practice, account closure from your account settings is the fastest way to remove the personal data we maintain about you.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or older age as defined by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Shipyard Labs LLC operates and stores data in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the current version. For material changes we will give reasonable notice (for example, by emailing account holders or posting a notice in-app). Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
